Don't Deport Rigo Padilla, Grant Administrative Closure
Dear ICE Director John Morton,
I am writing to you to request that you take action to immediately halt the deportation of Rigoberto Padilla (case #A089-275-910). Rigo is an excellent student, a valued community leader, and a devoted son and brother. Yet, due to one youthful indiscretion, he is in removal proceedings that would send him back to a country that has become a foreign place to him.
Rigo's case merits administrative closure. He has resided in the United States for 15 of his 21 years. In view of his family's modest economic circumstances, his only hope for completing his college education and fulfilling his professional aspirations is here in the United States. For him to have to leave the United States at this time would be tragic given his potential for further academic and professional success. Administrative closure would enable Rigo to complete his education. ICE could still reopen his case after Rigo finishes school if in the interim Congress fails to enact the DREAM Act or other legislation granting him the right to remain in the United States.
Rigo exemplifies what it means to be an American. He should be allowed to live the American dream. I urge you to immediately take action to stop Rigo's deportation and the deportation of other DREAM students.
Sincerely,
Your name and address here
